Practically a ‘household name’ in the blogging world, WordPress.com, like its sister WP.org, pretty much has it all, including the headache of all the startup. On the positive, the setup is easy, the learning curve is relatively low and you have the power to create and control the look and feel of your site with a great selection of customized themes, plugins and more – if you go for the paid upgrade. The free versions have more limitations, of course.
Besides being overkill on the options, the only additional struggle to be found was the difficulty getting contact info for questions, as it would appear that all issues are handled via public forums. If you want someone to help you along, this might not be the best platform for you.
If you’re the traditional blogger who is looking to keep it simple, have a look around, you may want to try something else before jumping on board the WordPress train.
